What's the best quality photo paper for DVD covers and photos?
For a couple of years now I've always lived by 270g Staples Supreme Photo Paper which works out at £7.99 for a pack of 25 sheets. But I was wondering what grade do I really need for this kind of printing? I'm often printing out photos for albums as well as DVD Covers for the DVDs I have developed entirely by myself for people for sale and do not want the quality to fade over time.
What other alternatives should I look at? I want to also get as much sheets for my money as possible but not sacrifice grade and overall printing quality.
There are only a few manufacturers that make photo paper and over a 1000 companies that sell it. So brand should not be that important.
I am not a photographer but I buy the premium paper from a local warehouse store at $12 for 150 sheets. of 11" by 8.5"
and about the same for 300 sheets of 4" x 6" paper
Now a real photographer may argue with me, but I don't care, it does what I need. I am not entering photos in a contest. And if I accidentally destroy a photo, I can just print another one off.
What I also do is after the photo is printed, I put it in a box and lightly spray it with clear paint to make the colors water resistant which ink jet printers are not. This also adds an extra layer of gloss to the photo
