Paper Tray Ribbon
Word 2007: Paper feeds from the right side of the tray. Word prints in the center. How do I change the feed?

I'm trying to print pre-sized greeting cards. My Canon printer feeds reduced sized paper from the right side of the paper tray. I snug the blank cards up against the right paper guide and slide the left guide over to secure them. I've searched all over the ribbon for some way to change the feed to the right side but can find nothing. When I printed out a test, only half of the front of the card printed on the card blank... the feed from the program to the printer obviously commands printing centered in what would be the middle of the paper tray. How can I let Word know that the paper's being fed from the right side of the tray?

If your Canon is anything like my HP, which also has a fixed right-guide and a floating left guide, the printing ALWAYS assumes the paper is right-aligned (actually, left-aligned, as the ink is put on it).

I suspect you have to change the left margin. That you can do this way:

1. Click the Page Layout tab on the Ribbon.
2. Click the arrow in the lower-right corner of the Page Setup group.
3. Click the Margins tab.
4. Adjust the Left margin text box. You might need to adjust the Right margin as well.
5. Click OK.

I'd test the results on a piece of ordinary paper, new or half-used, rather than sacrifice another piece of card stock.

Hope that helps.
