Digital Sticky Picture
should I get my sticky shutter botton fixed?
I have a Fugi FinePix s700 digital camera. the other day I was taking pictures for christmas. I put my camera back in the case and then took it out awhile later to take some more pictures. I noticed the shutter button was sticky. It's still able to take pictures but its kinda hard since the shutter button is the kind that you can push half down to focus and because it was sticky it makes it kinda sensitive. I also noticed that if you push the shutter botton alot it will become less sticky but then after awhile it will become sticky again.
I'm not really sure if I should get it fixed because I'm not sure if it will get unsticky over time or if it will get to the point where I
can't take pictures. so should I get it fixed just to be safe? also how much do you think it would cost if I got it fixed some where?

You've had to get something (I'll bet it's something sugary -- soda, Kool-Aid, alcohol, etc.) on the camera and, when still wet it seeped around the edge of the button and then dried out. You're left with the sticky, sugary residue gluing down the button.
Depending on how the button is positioned on the camera, you might be able to get a damp (not wet!) Q-tip around the edge and clean some of the sticky stuff off. If you can get a thin piece of fabric under the edge of the button, this might work too.
But I'd not hold out too much hope for these fixes ... more likely than not, you need to have the camera professionally cleaned. If I'm right about the source of the stickiness, I'll also wager that the problem won't get better. Been there, done that.
