Need external hard drive or jump? Brand? Type? Help! I'm lost!?
Ok, I need to transfir 2+ GB of photos from my 'puter to an external source & have a back up for my internal drive.
I was reccomended either a external drive or a jump/thumb drive. However I really dont have any info on these such as what I really need, what the best kind are, prices, or where to buy ect...
I dont ned it to be tiny or portable. I just want to clean up my 'puter, these are pics for horses and pedigrees and I dont search them that often but need them and dont want to chance loseing them. Plus I want to be able to back up my whole system, just in case. I can't use my cd drive too much, it works spotty and + I've just got to much stuff to put on disks. I want something safe, hardworking and long lasting but with a minimim price as money is tight as always. The drive is just going to sit on my desk so fancy or whatnot is not nessesary. Should I just go to staples and ask or what? Any thoughts or ideas appricated! Thanks in advance!
I can't give you an exact answer at the moment because I don't know a lot of the variables, but I would suggest looking in your local sale flyers. Stores like Staples, CompUSA, Office Depot, and Office Max often have external hard drives on sale for relatively good prices, after rebate. I'd suggest looking for something in the 160GB range, just so you won't have to worry about storage space.
